Deschutes Brewery Hot Wings
I loves me some good hot wings and Deschutes Brewery serves up some of the best in Bend. I don’t go for their Thai Wings of Fire, those are for the tourists. I always get the regular Franks Red hot and butter wings and get them extra crispy.
Hot, spicy, fried to perfection. Sooo good. Another successful Fried Food Friday.

Hot Wings in Bend are a tricky thing. There are plenty of places that do them pretty well, but in my opinion nowhere that does them REALLY well. That goes for Deschutes too, I find the chicken to be really chewy and somewhat rubbery. Also I’m a fan of actual “wings” so the all-drummy approach is a drawback as well. YMMV. Again though, they’re pretty good.
The perfect Bend wing would be a colab between a few places: Baldy’s for the chicken quality, Sidelines for the frying technique, Hardy’s (or possibly Deschutes) for the sauce. And yeah, Deschutes for the beer selection to go along-side.
Had Silver Moon’s wings? Make sure to order them well-done, and don’t expect Buffalo style, but man they’re really tasty.
Now I’m hungry!
I agree. I used to live in upstate NY and definitely miss the pizza and wing specials from up there!
I had the thai wings last night. I don’t remember seeing anything on the menu that they were going to burn me like this. Holy Shit.
