Tetherow Grill
When I think of dining at a golf course club I immediately think that its going to hurt my wallet and be boring eating surrounded by some rich, upitty types ala Caddy Shack and I’m Rodney Dangerfield without the loads of cash. But that couldn’t be further from the experience that we had at Tetherow Grill for dinner.
The menu is quite reasonably priced and they offer 3 course meals for a good price of $30. We got a couple starters of clams and mussels for $9 and $8 respectively.
Both very good but the best were the bits of bacon that were hidden in the clams. The mussels were described on the menu as pan fried and stuffed with bacon. We couldn’t taste the bacon in the mussels. I’d get the clams again for sure.
The wife went with the wedge salad and I went for the caesar:
Both were very good for being salads but they were too big for either of us to finish if we wanted to have enough room for dinner. Normally I wouldn’t complain about a dish being too big and I’m not really complaining now. I’m just saying that if you’re doing the 3 course meal, maybe opt for a soup.
I was the winner of dinner by ordering the bone-in NY steak while the wife went for the Halibut Cheeks.
The steak was served on a seasalt plate. I was told that if I leave the steak on the plate it will continue to absorb the salt. The Wife and I are fans of the salt so it worked out well for me. The steak was amazing! The Wife really liked her one bite that I gave her.
I didn’t really care for her Halibut cheeks….nothing was really wrong with them, just wasn’t steak.
Desserts were good. I’d highly recommend the Rootbeer float or the Pie if they have it, those were our favorites. Desserts are not a biggy for me but the Wife loves them.
