Rockin Daves Bagel Bistro
A friend of mine has been after me to try Rockin Daves Bagel Bistro for a while. I wasn’t really excited to give it another try after my first attempt was disappointing. My first visit I got the turkey club on a tough bagel with some super stale bagel chips and a nasty pickle. No one at our table was overly pleased especially Shannon.
The second time, my friend gave me the recommendation to get the Italian Stallion. The stallion comes with ham, pastrami, salami, provolone, red onion, pepperoncini, greens and tomato with Italian Vinaigrette.
The meat was very good and the three meat combo is right up my alley. As a whole, it was good, just not amazing like it was talked up. It needed something more than just vinaigrette. Since I had ordered to-go (because I don’t like the cramped seating inside) and was eating at my house, I went to the fridge for some spicy mustard. The mustard mixed with the salted pork worked well.
The bread wasn’t a good match. It was quite dry and crumbled on me as I ate my way through. I had to keep adjusting the meat back into place like a fatty adjusts his boxers on a hot day (yeah its a mess and not attractive).
All in all, it was good, not great. I do want to go back for a breakfast bagel as I’ve heard good things about those.
